Enabling Nepali Spell-checking in OpenOffice.org

  • Download the Nepali dictionary (.dic) and affix (.aff) files from http://nepalinux.org/downloads/ne_NP_dict.zip
  • Extract the files ne_NP.aff and ne_NP.dic and copy them to /opt/openoffice.org2.4/share/dict/ooo/
  • Add the following line to the file /opt/openoffice.org2.4/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst 
DICT ne NP ne_NP
  • (Re)Start OpenOffice.org and enjoy!
